VVT issue
Hey guys. . And girls. . first post on here so I apologize if it's not in the proper place and I can guarantee everyone has heard a million vvt questions. But I can't find the answer anywhere online and no one I talk to locally seems to know any answers. .so.. he it is.
I have a 2007 NBS Sierra I bought it had a 5.3 in it with DOD so that motor was toast due to every rod was bent so I scrapped that engine and got myself a 4.8 because they don't have DOD ! Bonus right! Well no , because I didn't realize they had vvt! Until after I got it in and realised. There was a phaser on the front cover (my own stupidity) any way so now it's gotta be delete cause it ran but just would barely accelerate.
So I took the front cover off an changed the cam sprocket (I left the VVT cam in) and put a solid cam bolt in . . .will this work ? Or do I HAVE to change the cam also ?
