Nice write up man...just a note, for most guys with 1500 trucks, you will be replacing the radiator before dropping the efans in, and will have to trim the rubber flaps along each side of the radiator, or about 3" of the radiator core will be covered by these flaps on each side. Also, as I found out when I originally did my 05 efan swap, if you have a K&N FIPK for a 99-04 1500, it's shield will need to be modified to clear the new 34" radiator as the shield and rad occupy the same real estate

Im not sure if its because I have a C3, but I have the 34" radiator stock, also installed the K&N intake and no modification was needed.

Great writeup. I just replaced my aftermarket Westers harness with an OEM one. Much cleaner install with stock harness and hopefully this one works better than the Wester's hack job.

Does anyone have a better pic of the factory wiring? Can't really read the one posted in here.

Yessiree, the C3's are different, like the Silvy SS's and VHO's, all of which already come with the 34" rad, so the K&N FIPK for those models will not need modification. I suppose that if somebody was installing the 05+ fans in their 99-04 4.8-5.3 1500, and wanted an K&N that didn't need modification, they could always order one for either an 05+, or a C3, SS, etc. Part of the reason that I now have a Volant, and used to have a K&N, is that the Volant was a direct bolt-in and cleared the 34" rad. My modified K&N actually came out nice, but at the time I had the dough and wanted something a little sharper looking
