Thank you for that. Okay now I have a better understanding.
Okay so here are my two thoughts: Either the y is breaking it or your serial cable is broke. It does suck you are forced to use a y and can't have 2 USB ports. The serial to USB cables are so so tricky.
The MPVI channels are different I think, those are probably unrelated entirely to the wideband. I would try plugging the wideband directly into the computer without the MPVI and the Y added. May give you some extra insight as to what is going on.

I'll try the latter. Thanks!

Basically splitters are just generally temperamental and unreliable.

Well, I have done everything that everyone has asked to no avail once again.
I unplugged HP tuners & the wide-band from the splitter and plugged each individually back into the computer and it would read HP tuners in both ports, but when I switched them around, it would not read the wide band in either.
This originally made me think it was the splitter, but I had plugged the HPTuners into both sides of the splitter, and it still was recognized in the computer.
So it's not the computer and it's not the splitter
It got me to thinking that the Serial to USB cord is the culprit
I started researching the RS232 DB9 female serial to USB 2.0 and Google led me back to Amazon as no one had it local.
For whatever reason I did not pick up on the fact that there needed to be a chipset in the serial to USB for conversion or I assumed that all cables that were the serial DB9 to USB 2.0 had a chip sit in them.
That's just not the case and apparently I bought the one that did not have a chipset
Sooooooooo after many months of trying to deal with this ******* bullshit, I have ordered a serial DB9 female to male USB 2.0 with a PL 2303 chipset and if this doesn't work I'm setting the truck on ******* fire. LOL

OK, so here's what I've done to try to fix the disappearing channel:
I deleted the channel and re-added it, following the full instructions above, including deleting the info out of the HPTuners vehicle folder, reconnecting to the scanner and re-polling.
I have done this with the Y splitter, and with each USB plugged into the computer and it still disappears.
Each time I have restarted the computer.
Here is a photo of what my device manager looks like with both cable is plugged into the Y and into the computer.

I’m trying to think if I did anything special for it to stop disappearing. I’m not sure.
