I have a nbs suburban rear bar that is slightly larger than the one on my yukon, thinking about swaping them out and adding the yukon bar to my silverado not that i think if will do much good on a lifted truck but i remember reading somewhere it helps with wheel hop, maybe i was reading wrong....

 

It is, or so I am told by those that have done it this way.

 

I got a used Hellwig 7800 from a member here (I think it was here, could have been another site....can't remember)

I paid $150 shipped to my door for it.

 

I plan on welding the end link support tabs (on the frame) and the sway bar bushing mounts (on the axle). Should the bushing mounts be mounted even - level - parallel - looking up - straight - etc? Or at an angle of some degree on the axle?

This was a great thread! I thinking about trying out a nnbs police Tahoe rear bar. If I do I'll post the info in here.

 

Doing this upgrade soon. I'll be using 3" leaf spring mounts for a trailer for my bushing mounts instead of the muffler clamps. Going to weld to the axle to end up with a factory appearing install.

Test fitted tonight. Looks like the end link on the passenger side will interfere with my factory exhaust. Any of you experience this?

 

Good luck, I did the Hellwig front and rear kit on my 05 ECSB 4x4 and have a Corsa single side and no issue.
Where you will really feel first is in the city driving making turns in intersections and such with a new found comfort and control.
As for the faster stuff you will gradually notice improvements realizing you could have negotiated or pushed a little more. Its not quite night and day especially if you only do the rear.
I did the rear 1st and was pleased but after doing the Hellwig front I got the grins.

 

I got mine from the Progress Group. It's a tight fit with my Magnaflow cat back.

I does make a significant difference over not having one but therock is right. I did mine in the same fashion. Installed the rear first and was amazed at less roll. Then put a stiffer bar in the front and holy cow!!!

 

I've been looking for the 03-06 30mm rear sway bar for some time now... no luck. I may have to just settle for the more common 28mm sway bar. I already have a welder and small pile of Jeep axle brackets, so I will probably just make my own axle brackes and weld them to the axle tube and also weld link tabs on the frame.

 

Update. Swap is done. drilled and tapped the trailer axle spring perches before welding them to my axle tubes. had to chop off my exhaust and ended up with an over the axle dump. also had to cut and stretch the factory tahoe endlinks to work with my stock ride height 4x4 truck.

night and day difference. lane changes and corners are both "easy" now.
