Default XM Radio ID question

First off, I've searched here and GMFS. This site usually takes around 5 mins to load each page here at work, so I just got fed up with waiting, and I keep getting connection errors over at gmfs, phone as well.

Simple yes or no answer.

If I have a 2005 Silverado with XM and I take out my radio and replace it with a stock navi unit out of another GM truck (non-lux, I already have all that squared away), will I have to transfer my XM to this radio?

Im assuming that the ID number goes with the truck, not the actual radio. So, I am assuming the answer is NO.

Thanks

Id goes with the xm module, which is not in the radio.

Thanks. I figured that it wouldn't be, just needed confirmation from someone who knew.

Its easy to check and change if need be. I think channel 0 gives you your radio ID. If it does change, call or go to XMs website and simply change the ID.

Id also assume the number is stored in the xm module which is behind the glovebox, but stranger things exist.

This. Not all vehicles have a separate satellite radio tuner, but GM does, so you're good to go.

the XM tuner is behind the glove compartment, right side facing up,
there is a 12 pin plug behind the radio that is the xm connector, just press the band button couple of times until xm1 xm2 shows up and go to channel zero for the radio ID
if your new radio is not recognizing the satellite, go back to the person that program the radio to the vehicle, they need to flash the memory again
