Don't buy a cobra...Smh....

I hada escort 8500 x50 and now I have a 9500ix, great detectors...I really want a valentine though

Sell the escorts and pick a V1 up! You will not be disapointed. Knowing where the threat is, is invaluable in my opinion. Read the manual and take a week learning its beeps and directional arrows and you'll know why once own one there is really no other detector like it.

I would get a V1 but I can never justify the money because I dont really speed too much

Valentine here. I have had it for 3yrs and no tickets. Coming into Vegas I caught Ka Band 1.2miles out. That is the best so far.

V1 all the way, the others just cant compare. Once you get used to those arrows, you cant go back. Well worth the money. I bought mine probably 6yrs ago and it has been back and forth accross the country 2 times. This thing has saved me thousands of dollars and jail time. Invaluble, plain and simple.

I came through wyoming running 100 to 120 for well over 100 miles and it picked up a cop more than a mile off, saved my ***. I will never have a different detector, hell, i plan on buying another one for my wifes car.

Just buy the V1

they can be had for under 300$ on ebay anything to watch out for on used units?

just get a scrambler and a cheap radar that works so you know if their out trolling..

when i was arrested last weekend, i was asking the cop all sorts of questions about radar detectors and their radars... it cam down to him showing me how they work.. radar/laser is off.. he decides it looks like your going to fast, he pushes the button your speed instantly pops up.(he actually showed me this with cars that were passing by) so by time your radar is going off hes already got your speed.. only time its really useful is if hes trolling around with the radar on with no specific "target" untill he gets a rediculiouse speed pop up..IMO a scrambler and a cheap radar that works good enough to let u know when hes around and trollin is a good combination.. just my 2 cents.

I believe you can send them back to Valentine to be updated/refreshed for $45. Just make sure it still has a serial number, they won't service one without it.
