you have to take it to a dealer or someone with a tech 2 scanner to put your vin into the radio and it will work. the price varies between dealerships but one was gonna charge me $65 but after 2.5 hours they said it wouldnt work because it was a 6 disc out of a tahoe and not a truck.(they were idiots) so i took it to another one and they done it in like 5 min for $30.

you could call a couple of shops and see if anybody has one but its a pretty slim chance. its a pretty slim chance but someone that use to work at a dealer might have one.

Sorry I didn't see this before. I hope this works on newer vehicles, it worked on my wife's 97 GTP. Copied from clubgp.com
So here's the free procedure on how to do this...

1. Press and hold the preset button 2 & 3 or 1 & 4 for older radios, about 6 to 9 seconds Until the first 2 or 3 digits of the display code are displayed.

2. Write the numbers down.

3. Press the AM/FM button; write down the next 2 or 3 numbers.

4. Call 1-800-537-5140

The recording will ask you to enter a number corresponding to a subsidary of GM ie, press 1 for Chevrolet, 2 for Pontiac...Ignore this and enter the following number 106010 and hit the star button *. Now enter the numbers you obtained from the radio itself followed by the star * key, and in mere seconds, you'll have a valid unlock code.

5. Use the HR button on the radio to enter the first 2 digits of the unlock code, and the MN button to enter the second 2 digits of the unlock code. Now press AM/FM and you're done. Unlocked radio!

03+ radios must be unlocked with a tech II, I just did one earlier today. Just talk the service tech at your nearest dealership and maybe he wont charge much.

Zombie thread RETURNS:
.
. Have a couple Suburbans, swapped the aftermarket JVC into 2004 model, for SALE, works good enough.
Stock CD-Cassette-AM/FM stuffed into "The Keeper" clean 2003 suburban. Wires fit, big plug fit, scraped the 8 pin Anti-Theft chip off the board, radio will tune local stations, but getting NO SOUND output, no hiss, no nothing.. Display lights, clock works, How do I get the music to come out ?
The shitty JVC and a WAD of adaptor harness was working, WHAT am I missing, where can I find a wiring pinout/ schematic for Entertainment- Radio- '03 Suburban base model ?
