Thinking of adding a temp/compass factory mirror

Default Thinking of adding a temp/compass factory mirror

I've got an '06 Silverado and it just came with a regular rearview mirror. It has the pass. air bag indicator on it, and I do not think that anyone makes an aftermarket unit that'll work, plus i've got a good lead on a factory one for a really good deal. I was wondering what I would have to do to make all of the functions work, the compass, temp indicator, and auto dimmer. I'm assuming the wiring would have to be chaged above the headliner for the connector to match up. I also assume that I would have to add a outside ambient air temp sensor, but other than that I do not know what I would need. I am hoping my assumptions are wrong. If anyone could lead me in the right direction i'd appriciate the help, im just
