That seems right in the wheel house for 2 10" JL W3's.

I think the less ohm means less resistance and more power to speaker. The speaker and amp need to be rated to handle the ohm rating.

What is this going in? Crew cab? Single cab? Extended cab? Are you planning on using the same box you have your current speakers in?

What size is the amp?
I've got a 500/1 jl amp power 2 little bitty 10" jl audio w1s!
I would never look back. As hard as these shallow subs hit, I would never want w3s lol. They'd vibrate my truck apart.
Just don't cheap out on wire. I had vision audio do mine and it totally sucked. A buddy of mine replaced all the wire with good quality thick wire and tuned it.
It made a HUGE difference ! I keep my bass about quarter way turned up and it's plenty for me.
Just my .02$

Take some measurements to find how many qubic feet of airspace your box is, and find the subs that require that amount of air space and fit in the box and are rated at the same ohm as the amp. You will be pleasantly surprised what a speaker in a correctly sized box will do. You can't go wrong with jl amps or subs.

i wish websites that sold audio equipment let you filter down your subwoofers that way. the box i'm looking at has .88 CF and i have never seen a filter by recomended CF range.
