Subs??

smoked, your statements are the same as saying "a 396 is faster than a 383, and a 383 is faster than a 350."
and i would hope everybody on this site knows better than that.
going further on the engines, the 350 could very well make more power than either of the other 2, AND be installed in a more efficient vehicle. it could be WAY faster than the other 2.... depending. this would equate to a 10" sub operating better at lower frequencies AND if its installed in the right enclosure, it could go a whole lot lower and louder than many 12's and 15's. ramda knows what hes talking about, not just googling stuff or making general b.s. statements like "12's have good all around bass".

He made a general statement about what 12's fit behind a seat and I have him a general statement about what I thought about subs. And if you knew how to read I said that 10's have good all around bass, not 12's genius

It's not an engineering site, dumbass
Resonant Engineering is the company itself

There's nothing really "original" as far as we are concerned about the t/s parameters of a subwoofer. You apparently are the dumbass since you think you so much about car audio when you refer to the t/s parameters as "random subwoofer data" in post 18.
Admit it, you don't know anything about audio. If you did, you would already realize that you're wrong about your initial statement that "there is a big difference between the sound of a 10 and a 12." Look at the "random subwoofer data" that I posted. The Fs of the the RE SE 10 is much lower than even some 15's. You're basically telling me that a Pyle 15" subwoofer...the 23049723049 watt one will be able to "hit harder" than a Resonant Engineering SE 10? You're basing it off size, I'm basing it not only on size but the t/s parameters of the woofer. And yes, fs is the primary determining factor of the woofer as far as what the minimum requency response is on the driver. Again, the Q-values (Qts, Qes, and Qms) are used when you're designing an enclosure either ported or based off the quarter wave theory.
Point is...shut the **** up when you don't know what you're talking about. Perhaps I shouldn't have called him a noob, oh well. I do have sufficient evidence to say that you are indeed a dumbass when it comes to car audio. Let him get whatever subs he wants, his off-the-wall subs you buy at ANY audio shop or he can step up to a better built, better quality woofer such as RE, Fi, DD, etc, some of the lesser-known brands.
**EDIT**
And here's a video of an SE 10 in case you were wondering...

Heres how I solved my problem in picking a sub/box. I went into the stereo shop and bought a 12" L7 kicker already installed in a Kicker L7 box. Kicker did all the math and did all the paying.
Hit up a few stereo shops and see what they tell you about airspace etc. If they seem to be the same answer then you can research a box or build your own based on the airspace and room you have.
Like said before, the right amp will make all the difference. My 1 12" sub is waaaay too much if I turn it up. My nose hairs vibrate and it sounds like you are talking into a fan. This is in my Tahoe. In a truck I think the right 12" or 10" sub with a properly matched amp will either be just right or blow you windshield out of the grooves.

In case anyone still cares about the thread topic, I have two Resonant Engineering SE 12"s in a sub zero brand down firing underseat enclosure, it fits perfect, sounds clean and does a legal 139db score on a termlab. Pretty nice all around, considering you can barely even tell there is a box back there.
