Well, my stock cd player took a crap this week. Won't play any cd's at all and I am getting tired of listening to the radio. Does anyone know of a decent head unit that will fill the entire opening in the dash? If not I am going to have to try to find a replacement stock GM unit.

pioneer and alpine both make a headunit that will fit the entire opening.

hyde did some killer **** to his truck. he install the ac controls in the over head pocket and put in a cd and dvd player. See if he can get you some pics

Cool thanks for the info. It is absurdly easy to pull out the stock unit. I pulled mine out and also pulled the one out of the roommates truck. I was planning to swap them and take his to the dealer and tell them it was broken since his truck is still under warranty. Unfortunately the model numbers on the units were different even though they look the same and have the same plugs in the back. Oh well. I reinstalled them into the pickups and mine started working again. Guess we will see how long it goes before it dies again.
