Arrow Stereo guys answer me this(help), why is it that my stereo

Sounds like dick. i have infinity kappas at all 4 in the truck, have a 50x4 pioneer avic head unit... I think the stock radio had a better sound to it, it is bugging the **** out of me.. Everything is hooked up legit, not some hack job.. Is it due to the size of the stock speak wire or what?.. Could it be cause I don't have it dynamated ?.. Could it be the fact that the kappas have a 100+ wat rms, are just not being aperated in there proper range due to no amp driving them?... Sombody gimmie some info.. My buddy has a decent head unit in his truck, with some pioneer speakers at all 4 and it gets loud and is clear as hell.. Thanks

that pioneer head unit is probably putting out about 12-15 watts RMS. Basically, you are probably clipping like a **** when you jack up the volume. Also, when you clip the signal, power goes up by about a factor of 3, which is a good way to damage your speakers. You need a good quality amplifier. I would recommend Zapco or Arc Audio.

i am thinking that, cause I have heard kappas b4 and they sound fukin good... You def think that is my prob?? Hell I might just get some lower rms rated speakers so i can run them off of the HU with out a amp. I really don't want ot have and mess with that... I be willing to bet that a set of speakers that were lower rms rated would sound fuller, clearer then what I got.. Not that it is horrable but isnt great

No. That head unit's amp is a piece of ****. In fact, no audiophile grade head unit has an amp in it. I'm not knocking your head unit specifically, but rather the idea that you can get good quality sound out of it. Look at how tiny a headunit is compared to your typical amplifier. A head unit cannot dissipate the heat that something like an A/B amplifier will make for the same amount of power. I'm not engineer, but if I remember correctly headunits use MOSFET chips and maybe class D technology, but essentially they will never be able to put out the quality of signal as a good A/B amp. Like I said, Zapco would be my #1 choice. They make some very nice budget minded amps.

Yes I was saying that I might just get a speaker with a lower rms rating so that i can just use my head unit, get a better sound rather then hook a amp up I don't feel like fukin with it...

No. lol. That makes no sense. You're still sending a **** signal, it's gonna sound like ****.

What you are proposing to do is akin to putting race fuel in a geo metro
