Unhappy Speedo...problem?

I have an 04 GMC Sierra that is not reading the correct speed. I have been told that the needle is sticking in the guage cluster. When I go to buy a new cluster does it have to be programed for mileage? I was reading something on e-bay about having it programed. I would appreciate it if someone could help me.

If its under warrenty take it to the dealership. Those things shouldn't go out so soon. However, if you went with a new gauge cluster, you would have to get the mileage/engine hours programmed in. US Speedo can do it along with another place that was recommended to me. PM if you want the details.
