Which speaker ... L5 or L7 ???

No one I know likes the L7s for sound quality.
For a smooth hitting deep bass the JL W6 or W7 would work well in a small box but I am unfamiliar with your amp and the ohm load requiments to hit max power.
Another great sub for SQ or all around playing is the Diamon D6 or D9 (D9 is really deep though).
Im sorry I cant asnwer between the L5 and L7. I just dont know em all that well. If I am near the shop soon I'll ask Kenny. He used to be a huge Kicker fan.

Tell me about the JL's ... I'd like to do an 8 because of the severe space constraints. I think I'd have a hard time getting a 10 in there, enough box to make it work, and still keep her happy with storage space.

The JLs work great because of the extreme amount of low end they produce. They are not the most musical though. I was at the shop yesterday putting a tiny system in my Prius and my buddies over there said the Diamond D9 would be better than the JL W7 for SQ but Im not sure you have 10" of depth to work with lol. They all agreed, stay away form the Kicker subs though hahaha
Its too abd Eclipse doesnt make the old 88Series Aluminum subs anymore. Those things were awesome
