Sound System
#1
I'm looking into putting a System into my Truck. I have a 1999 GMC Sierra 5.3l Ext Cab.
I can handle the wiring, where is a good place to get a Box to go under the back Seats that can hold 2 12's..and what is a good Deck to go with? I was thinking about installing one that can play DVD's and has a little screen..

probox makes some pretty good prefab boxes to go under the seat. I am partial to alpine when it comes to head units. I have had them all and have liked alpine the best for its functionality and sound quality.

Alpine makes some really nice headunits. If you can swing the cash then go with one of their navi units like an IVA-505 or IVA-205. Both work really well with iPods and things like that for storing/playing your music. If you can't swing the money they still make a really nice single din headunit. Kenwood Excelons are nice as well.
As far as a box under your rear seat for (2) 12's its going to be really hard to find one that will work unless you go with a shallow mount 12's. The average 12" sub with your 3/4" MDF box is going to be too deep to put under your seat. I see people using (2) 10's and having great sound come from them and if your willing to drop some cash you can get some really nice 10's that will still beat down.

^^ most raise the seat an inch or 2 but ya. It will be hard to fit 12s. Subthump and probox both make good boxes.. Probox is a little better quality i think.
I have the pioneer avic 900bt and I love it. Really easy to use. Has voice commands and bluetooth to connect your phone to and upload your contacts on and make all your calls thru your head unit. Built in hands free device
