Default Sound Proofing

Two quick questions:
1- If I decide to line my doors with a sound deadener such as Dynamat, I obviously have to get rid of the plastic liner. Is moisture going to cause a problem (rain, car wash) ?
2- Some products are asphalt based. How long does it take for the smell to dissipate? I'm asking because I can get hooked up with some.

the plastic door liner, can be put back on....just peel it where u will place the material and then put it back....that is what i did with my tahoe...

as for the smell it depends on what product u use....there are some roofing materials that stink, and others that do not have any smell at all....but i haven't found anything better than dynamat extreme yet.
