Default something about stock hu's

do all stock HU's suck compared to aftermarkets?

I'm really tryin to stick with the stock HU's.

I got amp with sub in the back and now I'm trying to boost the internal speakers output..

short of wiring in an amp for those... how would a bose (stock hu version) compare to my regular 'ol stock hu? in terms of powering speakers?

i just put a sub and amp in my truck wired to my stock HU and its sounds killer no complaints... i have a Alpine MRP-M650, Alpine SWR-1022D and a stinger sloc line level converter to wire them off the HU. Pretty easy to wire it up too.

I got an MTX 500 sliced off the drivers side rear speaker wire and a 400watt sub runnin off that.

It sounds incredible don't get me wrong.. would just like a little more output from the interior speakers. seems like they get overpowered by the sub.. and when I turn the sub down a bit its not enough bass.

why do I gotta always complain? lol never happy

the head units for our trucks make good power for speakers. Just if you want aftermarket or not

also, if your truck didnt come with bose you wont get sound from a bose hu (head unit ) because it doesnt have a built in amplifier. on most bose systems there is an external amplifier to power the speakers, the hu is just a big remote pretty much where as your hu has the amp for the speakers built into it so its all in one........put it to ya this way, your factory hu (non bose) is puttin out 5 to 7 watts on its best day....you cant get below 17 watts on an aftermarket hu so tirple the power and yeah your speakers are gonna sound better just remember factory speakers are made for 5 to 7 so you might look to up grade the speakers soon after or youll be b/c your speakers blew.....

well I got infinity references hooked up.. so I can afford to power 'em a bit better then now.

What's ya'll opinions on the MTX re-Q? Is it just a bass amplifier? or a power increaser? Cause I already hvae enough bass..

Ok well nobody seems to really know what in the heck they're talking about(not that I really do either) so I'll add a bit of info: Stock head units don't have built in amplifiers, or if they do, they're really shitty.

Most aftermarket cd players had 4volt pre-outs and a built in 26x4channel amp.

Your speakers with the factory unit aren't being amped so they will sound crappy(even for stock speakers). If you swap in an aftermarket cd player, they will now be getting at least a small amount power to them so they will perform better than stock.

It is definantly noticeable over the stock unit.
