Default reprogram key fob??

I changed out the battery in my key fob and now it doesn't work. How do I reprogram it? Key fob is for a 2000 gmc if it matters...

Thanks in advance

hold the lock and unlock button down for I think thirty seconds to re-synch it to the BCM's rolling code.

don't know if its the same on your truck, but i just did this on my truck and wife's tahoe. scroll through the dash options until it says "relearn remote key" then just press and hold the lock and unlock button at the same time for 15 seconds. if you have any other remotes for the truck, repeat that last step at this time. because if you only program one, it swipes the computer clean of any others that were previously programmed to it. i hope that makes sense

sorry, just realized this is a couple weeks old and the op has probably already fixed his problem, so maybe this will help someone else

Just bought new remotes for my 03 silverado... Heres what i did.

1. Hold down unlock button on drivers door. While holding the button turn the ignition to the ON postion and then back OFF, (do this two times)

THE LOCKS SHOULD CYCLE

2. Let go of the unlock button.

3. press down the unlock and lock buttons on your fob and hold (can take up to 30 sec)

LOCKS SHOULD CYCLE IF ACCEPTED

4. Follow step 3 for any additional Fob to be programmed!

5. Turn ignition on and back off.

6. TEST YOUR FOB

It's on the book. I found it for my buddy who couldn't figure it out a couple months back. He didn't have a book with his tahoe tho.
