Replacing factory door speakers???
#1
I added 2 kicker cvr 10's to my 05 gmc rcsb a few months ago, and now, I can really hear how much the factory system sucks! It's the regular sysytem, not the bose. I was thinking about replacing the door speakers. I want something mad by Kicker, fairly cheap, and sounds good. I don't need the loudest or clearest, just something better than stock. Any reccomendations? Also, how do you hook up aftermarket door speakers?

I have polks in my truck, sound great... IMO best speaker for the money.
Got mine off of eBay for under 100.00
Just get an adapter harness or splice into your current harness.. The lighter color wire out of the two would be your positive.
You need 6.5" speakers.
on the headunit, they would sound better with one!

x2 an aftermarket unit will increase the amount of power you have going to the stock speakers...it's not gonna give you the best end result but definatley get the radio before the speakers...because at the end of the day...it's nice to be able to hear the difference

im runnin a kenwood x692 HU and 2 kicker comp 10's for now, infinity kapp component 6.5"s and couple tweeters and it sounds real good IMO, im taking the 10's out eventually and putting 4 8's downfiring, the head unit made the biggest difference in everything

Ok, so my truck has factory tweeters above the speaker behind the grille. So, do I need aftermarket crossovers with my aftermarket tweeters and speakers or can I just hook 'em up and go?
