Default removing power seats...

...I'm going to buy a set of power seats from an 04 suburban that was in a rollover. The guy I talked to said the electrical system didn't work, and the seat couldn't be powered forward to axcess the rear bolts. I don't know if a new battery will solve it, he said he tried a bunch of things and they didn't work. My question is can we directly hook the seat up to a power source to get it out of the truck? If so how can we do that? Thanks

If you can figure out which motor moves the seat back and forth, you should be able to use a jumper box or battery and some jumper wires hooked directly motor. If it still doesn't move, then the motor is smoked.

why not remove the motor? no motor means no resisitance? if its like the truck buckets, its 2 bolts in the front, (back of the seat is just slid into 2 plastic guides) then the bottom cusion kinda pulls out and a tad up, then there is all of the under seat exposed. widdle with it and your done unless the suburban seats are different... but probally not.
