ive heard of ppl putting the l7s behind the passenger seat and extending the box under or over to passenger seat with a port.

So the first thing I did was start the sound deadening process. I like to use Second Skin.

When I ran out of the silver backed foil I switched to the black.

Then I built a subwoofer box.*

The first thing I did was start to mock up the bottom of the box.

Size: 110.0 KB

Cut the piece out of MDF.

Measured and cut out the back piece of the box.

Test fit.

The next thing I did was put the two seats where I wanted them and then cut cardboard out around them. This will become the top of the box.

Then I cut out that piece and glued it to the top of the box.

Test fitting the box.

Then I measured what space I had and cut a piece to that size.

Next I covered the entire box in felt.

Then I mixed up some fiberglas resin and covered the box in it.

Size: 135.6 KB

Then I cut up some fiberglas matting and started the process all over again.

I misplaced the next set of pics but you get the idea. *I covered the box over and over then used a bit of body filler and sanded it down until it was smooth. *I painted it with hammerite black.

I am actually going repaint it pewter so it matches my interior better. *

I have also started to modify my kick panels for my Boston Acoustics.

It's not too bad. All the silver stuff I had left over from my Camaro project. They switched to the black foil like 6 months ago or something.

I'm a firm believer in deadening, but it does add a lot of weight. Then again, that sub box isn't exactly light either. LOL.

On another note, I just through that Pioneer sub in there because I had it laying around as well. The box ended up being to big for it, and I don't like the sound. So in the long run, I plan on changing it out for something else. I bought those subs years ago for a SPL project. I ended up not using them.

I'm not a SPL guy at all. I'm an SQ guy.

Actually no. LOL. I'll get you guys some if you want. It looks just like the felt one though. I painted it hammerite black. I had some pics but when I reinstalled the firmware on my iPhone I lost some of my pics. That's a different story all togeather though.

I plan on taking it back out and repainting it grey though. I'm going to do that when I finish my kick panels. I stopped working on it when I found out one of my amplifiers I bought off of eBay does't work properly. Either I need to find an oscilloscope or another ADS PQ10.

Right now I'm focusing on my Procharger setup so it'll be a while before I get back to the stereo stuff.

I just bought a TrueTrac so that will be my next project. I still need to order some shims, carrier bearings, and ring gear bolts.

Off subject I know, but does anyone happen to know a good place to order those things? Summit?
