I suggest you look into the JL audio stealth box that goes in the center console. I had to swap the console out to a tahoe style console but I lost zero leg room. Thumps pretty hard, it is a jl 10w3 sub and I have around 300 watts RMS going to it.

Memphis Audio makes some great boxes, I have the single vented 10" behind the seat version and it is a killer set up. Check them out.
look under Eclosures on the lower left side.

I'd like to have a nice custom home-made box someday, along with a head unit with GPS, but until then, I'm sportin the factory head unit with an Infinity Basslink. It has a surprisingly tight sound...I've maxed it out to the point that the stereo was lounder than my valvetrain, and the tenitis in my ears (that I've acquired from years of impact guns, live music, etc.) actually rings like I just left an Iron Maiden concert. It's fairly inexpensive, easy to install, fits and works for me
