Default Radio Info Display

My stock radio allows you to read the songs playing on the display face, however if you dont mess with it for a while or the radio station is doing alot of commercials then it reads the dealerships name.

How can I change the dealerships name when it pops up on my radio display?

I hooked up my trusty auto xray ez scan 6000.... of course there are no buttons that can change the display reading...

Perhaps there is some "trick"? Like the manual says to turn off traction control you can hold the pedal down, hold the traction control button down and stand on your head while turning the key on to turn off the traction control from then on.
Well...something like that...

Surly there is a way....

Its reminding me everytime how much I really do hate dealerships everytime I see thier name.

Mine always says some chit about winning Final Destination 3 tickets...

Never seen the dealers name come up. That would be sweet if someone figured out how to program the content that gets scrolled across the screen

Believe it or not, the manual actually does tell you how to turn this feature off. It took me about several hours of re-reading the same pages of the manual over and over and playing with the radio before I figured out how to do it. I'm not exactly a technical novice myself either, I write software for a living and have been programming computers for better than 20yrs now.

Anyway, to disable this feature, press the RCL button on the radio until the display shows the station frequency. Then press and HOLD the RCL button in for a few seconds until the radio beeps.

stopped off and ranted about the radio.... the yahoo's told me that it was the radio stations doing it. Anyone who drives into OKC with a factory GM radio will also recive the same signal. As long as your radio reads the songs off.
The dealership pays to have them do that.

I guess I will buy another radio...because this crap bothers me
