Can you cross ballast/bulbs ? For example if you bought a HID kit off e-bay and a ballast goes bad, would a ballast from like DDM work? I was going to order a ballast for a friend and he doesnt know what brand they are or anything.

 

Theyll work. But some ballasts somehow change the color of the bulbs, so there is a chance it will be a little different. For example, I have 5k bulbs, I had a ballast go bad and replaced it with a different brand and that one bulb looks like a 4300k instead of the 5k like the others.

This is true because diff brands have diff ratings so they throw off the colors when crossed ( I install hids )

 

Don't forget about the power ratings either, I am running DDM 55 Watt kit but make sure your bulbs are rated to hold the power of the balast. Most bulbs are only 35 watts
