ill check all my fuses later on today and see if thats the problem. if not ill try another stereo. ill update yall later.

I had a similar problem with my 2000 Sierra. My interior lights completely shut off when the headlights were turned on. Turns out I had a faulty dimmer switch. Could possibly be your problem too.

Which is why I suggested checking the fuse and then checking the wire.

If the fuse is blown it COULD be a bare wire, if not then its most likely hardware.

It could be in the lights, dash, alarm, horn, or radio from my understanding of that specific problem. correct me if i'm wrong of course, mine was old and they've done alot of changes.

If I were to guess, I'd be leaning towards the dash light rheostat or it's circuit (dimmer switch)...

from what ive checked im starting to think it might be the dimmer switch like you are saying, cus none of the fuse are bad and ive checked my wiring and from what i can see it look to be in good shape. Now i just have to find a dimmer swith to see if thats the problem.

Never thought of the dimmer switch.. I'll check that on my blazer when I get it back together. Right now its got all kinds of wiring glitches going on and that could very well be why.
