Default Pre-made Sub Boxes

Anyone buy the pre-built sub boxes? They are on eBay for as low as $70 shipped! I'm curious about fit, build quality, and sound quality mostly. And I don't want it to completely eliminate leg room in the back seat.

Thanks.

I had a subthump box, personally I thought it was built kinda cheesy and after 9 months of use it needs to be re-sealed with silicone or something

Well in the end your never gonna be completely happy unless you do it yourself. But they cant be any worse than a $70box from ebay imo..

They suck. Buy a sheet of 3/4 MDF build it as big as you can to fit your space port it and it will sound way better.

Check out Car Stereo and more at HiFiSoundconnection

I dont know anything about quality personaly. But when i was with some friends at the best audio buisness in the area this was the website they went to for finding custom boxes that they couldnt get through their regular supplier. depending on application i dont think the price would be much different between ebay and this website.

Buy the prefab box and a 12oz can of Gorilla Glue, the waterproof expanding kind. Take the box apart and line every mating surface with Gorilla Glue. Screw box back together while glue is still very fresh. Use remaining Gorilla Glue and a rubber glove to spread glue around every inner edge and corner of the box. Wait 24 hours.

You now have a nearly indestructible, completely sealed, solid hitting sub box. Even with the cheaper wood used in the prefab boxes, I think your sub(s) will tear from the ring before the box blows.

you have to do some research on your subs, before you just throw anything in those boxes. IMO
