a-pillar gauges wiring

How are you guys wiring up your apillar gauges?
What i really mean is where are you going down with your wires at? cutting a hole in the apillar cover and then putting the gauge pod cover over it?
Where are you getting power from?
Where is a good ground at close to the dash?
right now i only have a tach to mount in my triple apillar cover but will add a wideband and DPIC later
i know the tach signal wire is the white one from the gauge cluster

i got it installed, drilled a 3/8 hole in the side of the apillar. found some quick connects, so no soldering. got a switched hot from the back of the gauge cluster. ive got my lights working on it, but which one is the wire that is dimmed? i can only find 2 switched hots coming from the headlight switch and neither one is dimmed

I just did mine the other day its a brown wire at the top right if u pull it out and look at it from the top. Thats ur dimmer. Make sure u have the parks on when u check the auto lights screw with ya. Also I got power for the switched power source by putting a regular female connector onto the blade on the fuse block. There is a block that looks like it is supposed to have a 2x2 connector on it it has like 6 blades open, one of those has keyed power. its on the center left of the fuse block. Hope this helps!
