Default Passenger's side electric window not rolling down.

Today I hopped in my truck and was unable to roll down the passenger's side window with either switch. When I hit either switch I only here a quick click coming from the passenger side switch and nothing else. Does anyone have any suggestions? If anyone has any experience with this problem or ideas please let me know. At this point I am planning to check the passenger's side switch and motor to be sure they are getting power. I am hoping it isnt the motor since that would definitely be more cash than a new switch.

When that happend to my truck, I had to replace the window regulator because the wires used to pull the window up fell out of the tracks. Installing a window regulator isn't hard and it only cost about $100 new.

Yea seems the regulator and motor are no more than $100. Still I am hearing some people talk about having to drill out rivets. I guess I will figure it all out when I am ready to fix it.

Well something is really rotten in Denmark. Today I hopped in my truck and the window rolled down smoothly with no problem. I was hoping this would happen too, so hopefully it will continue to work with no problem.

no rivets, gm no longer sells the regulator with the motor have to buy them seperatly. there a three screws that hold them together. we also have alot of problems with the passenger switch or the passenger door module as it is known. have also seen some blown fuses as well.

Thanks for the info Red. Thankfully my window works fine now with no problem and hopefully it stays that way.

Do you have a window lock switch? It may have been on. If not, the motor may be on it's way out. If the problem re-occurs, try banging on the passenger door panel while depressing the switch...if the window suddenly starts working, the motor's probably at fault.

sounds like the same **** mine was doing. a swift bop on the motor with a rubber mallet when the panel was off fixed it. it looked like the motor might have been wet at one time or the other...
