100 bucks here and 100 bucks there. Seems these new trucks are just more expensive than ever. I've put 3 or 4 radios in nbs trucks, And it's easy as pie. But this one will be different, with a lot more wires. I've gotten 3 quotes from local shops. Prices range from 220 to 420$ just for a radio!
And that is with me having bought the pioneer double din before hand. You have to integrate the steering wheel controls,Bluetooth, xm, and a harness ect.
So I might just do it myself. Anyone know of anything helpful to aid me in this install? A write up would be sweet. Personal experience?
The radio is a pioneer FH-X700BT double din no screen.

IF you're paying retail, the harness from Metra (GMOS-100) will be $220, but that includes everything you need to do the install "wiring wise" to keep steering wheel controls, XM, onstar and RAP. You'll still need the dash kit (either 99 or 95-3305) for $20 bucks and an antenna adapter (40CR-10) for about 10-15 bucks, so thats going to be 250 bucks at least, there and you still have to factor in the install which will more than likely run $50+. While the quotes seem expensive at first look, they're actually fairly accurate, imo. It just sucks these newer vehicles require such expensive parts.

I guess I'll wait till I get my door speakers in and then take it to a shop.
