I just installed a set of RSD65cs - Phoenix Gold 6.5" Radial SD 2-way Components
in my truck this weekend.

The best bang for the buck components you can get IMO. If you can find them for sale worth looking into.

So I got a chance to look at it today and one of the speaker wires was almost corroded in half at the terminal...odd since it doesnt get wet, but they were very small speaker wires, I replaced it with some 16ga wire, same problem...

just for ***** and giggles I switched the wires with one the amp and now the other speaker sucks...
so obviously now i get to trace a problem with the amp...

That sucks! 16ga wire will allow more power to get to the speaker so it was worth the "upgrade" vs the stock 18ga. Keep in mind the rear side of the speakers do get wet from time to time. Mainly just more of a moisture rich environment vs the inside of the cab. Every time it rains im sure they get a little damp with the occational splash of water from rain running down between the bottom of the window and the door.

As far as the amp check your signal cables. You could have one that has a bad connection or you may have a bad signal cable feeding into the amp. If all of that checks out then you may have an amp starting to go out.

Keep us informed on what you find out. There isn't much out there that bothers me more than a stereo not working the way it should.
