Locked stock head unit ??????

the reason for the price difference is because at the dealer they may have to do a security learn for the vin that can only be done with tech 2 and tis2web gm programing software

Damn that sucks! they charged me $100 plus tax, 1.0 Hours shop time to unlock the deck i put in my 2006 silverado that came from my buddy's 2006 silverado ss.

Typical price will be 1.0 hr labor at their posted labor rate. Tech 2 must be used for this operation.

Remember that these are "theft deterrent" radios. If they made it easy or cheap to install into another vehicle after being stolen, it would defeat the intended purpose.

Who in the hell would want to steal a stock head unit? This is just a way for the dealers to make money IMO.

LOL! My wife's 04 Tahoe won't eject cd's and I was going to swap my 05 head unit with hers(I just listen to the radio) and trying to find a resolution on a search here. This is just B.S. I own both trucks and will have to pay to be able to swap them.
