I put blue LED's in my 01 gmc sierra gauge cluster but they last like 30 minutes and go out. Sometimes they flicker for a while and then just go out. I didnt buy the best LED's, i got some cheap ones on ebay 10 for like 8 bucks so im thinking that could be it but im not sure because its always the 2 bulbs in the same spot that go out and the rest are fine. Any ideas?

 

did you solder resistors in and everything?

 

No I don't think I have too cause 99-02 clusters are just the twist socket 194 bulbs. So correct me if I'm wrong but don't the 194 led bulbs already come with built in resistors? plug & play?

just put my order in for some new led's last night. A tower of blue 12 3528 SMD in each bulb. I paid a bit more for those, 8 for $25, so hopefully those work good. Ill keep ya'll posted :thumbsup:

 

I put in those new 12 3528 SMD in saturday and have been riding with them on fora while and so far there still good, much bright and lights more even throughout the cluster because of the 360. Last night one of them scared me for a bit, a bulb went off for like 2 minutes but then came backup for another 2 then went back off and then back on and its stayed on. Hopefully it doesnt happen again cause i dont wanna go back to that stock look. the led cluster looks ***** at night!
