Default I may be getting a custom console/dash done

I just found out that a friend of a friend owns his own car audio business. We spoke the other day and he said he also does custom interiors including figerglass dashes, console, etc. He's gonna look at my truck this week to see what we can do. Said he could make me a new dash bezel to hold a single din stereo and have it look stock. i'm gonna have him mold in my escalade cd changer and DIC into the center console i think.

That would be nice, post up some pics. I'd like to find some-one near me that could do some custom gauge mounting.

I had a local stereo shop glass in the Denali DIC and 6 disc changer into my console. I really like the way it turned out. Since you are putting a single din in your truck, have you though about just putting the 6 disc right below it?

I dont think a factory 6disc changer is goin to work with a aftermarket radio.

i tried to post a reply yesterday but the site was messed up as usual. anyway, i got an estimate from the guy today. $3000

that gets me: 5 way amp, sub box with 2 10's, new component speakers in the front doors, move the 6 disc to where the heater controls are, move the heater controls to the center console where the slave tape normally goes, fix all my f'd up wiring in the truck and under the hood, install a 2 way remote starter, and a Powr-slider rear window.

I may scratch the starter and rear window for now. That would bring it down to $2000. That still seems like a lot of money.
