I'm thinking about putting dyna or fat-mat or whatever is the cheapest, good mat in my rcsb. How much would it take to cover the floor, roof, back cab wall, and doors? I might even put some under my hood. Thanks!

 

I found a 100 sq ft roll of fatmat on Ebay for about $90. I think that would be plenty. I am planning the same thing.

Roughly 10sq.ft on the roof, 8sq.ft on the back wall, 6sq.ft per door outer skin, 6sq.ft for door skin that the panel mounts to. I havent put any on the floor so dont know about that.

I would run Raam mat if you're on a budget. Fatmat is crap from what I've heard. It's also asphalt based so enjoy that when it gets hot outside. I've heard of issues of it not adhering, sliding on vertical panels, and it's not terribly good at reducing vibrations either.

 

I'm about halfway into the process of lining my truck with 80 mil Fatmat, and none of the issues Random Hero just mentioned are correct. Sticks like poop to a blanket, even when the steel inner door structure is cold, and the 2 passenger side doors are dead silent now. No road rattles on gravel roads from my 200000 mile truck, and the doors even close more solid. Don't hesitate to buy it if the deal is good.

 

Will it make a difference? I'm sure it would be better than nothing.

I was ready to buy some myself. It seems like a great deal. I did my homework on it, and found quite a few people who were unhappy with it.

I'm sure there are success stories like you. I don't doubt that for a second, but at the same time I've seen just as many unhappy people that bought it as there were satisfied customers.

EDIT-It does seem as though FATMat has introduced a thicker sound deadener than their previous one. Their old design was the lightest on the market, and my comments were based in regards to that.

As far as the new 80mill stuff, I can't comment, but I did notice it's $160 for 100 square feet(unless you can find it cheaper). For that price, you might as well go with RaamMat which is proven and tested.
