If you want legit LED headlight bulbs this is the ONLY place to get them www.lifetimeledlights.com, brighter than HID's and will outlast your truck.

The eBay ones are junk and have poor light patterns.

I just learned that DPS in TX writes for LEDs without a DOT number.

I will check this out GM1697.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/...acement-bulbs/ has some as well
They also have a nice selection of light bars at a reasonable price. The harnesses are stout to.

Take a look at the voltage ratings. Theres no way a 12 volt system will do what that site claims.
Those led lights will not produce 2200 lumens while at 12 volts instead of its max rating of 32volts..
The only reason they are DOT legal is they do not produce 2200 lumens in a 12volt system.

I will stick with my HID's until these LED manufactures start showing real world results at 12 volts.

Now that my truck no longer sucks oil I'm willing to spend some $$$ on it and being able to see at night is next on the list.

Man it sucks when the peepers start to go! But, my night vision has never been my strong fit!
Thats OEM lighting.

there is a problem with led headlamps of you do live in a really cold place.

they don't get hot enough to melt ice that can form on the front of the light when driving and essentially make them useless.

if i remember back they had a problem with this when they started to use led street lights and snow would accumulate on the lights and block them out instead of melting it off.

i cant stress enough, That HIDs in normal reflector housings makes you an *** hole. blind the hell out of everyone on the road but you.
Hids should only be used in projectors where you get a nice clean cut off line and do not blind all other drivers.

Not to say i havnt done it before. i had HIds in my old 99 and 06 silverados and an old 1990 civic hatch. but then i turned 22 and realized i was being an *******
