What HIDs are everyone running? I've tried eBay cheapie, carhidkits.com which were ok, but now failing.i want some that are extremely bright and will last more than 6 months

 

The retro fit source has awesome quality HIDS or I've bought 2 sets from VVME.com.

I had 1 set of ballasts last 4 years and 3 minnesota winters in my car without an issue, I always had a relay harness too.

 

I run ballasts from Ddm tuning and bulbs and hid harness from retrofit source.

ddm tuning here too. several sets from them playing with colors and ballast power in different housings with no problems. been using their stuff since 2009.

I use DDM tuning. I've installed 8 kits on various vehicles over the years and only had a issue with 1 bulb occasionally not firing. One kit is over 5 years old now and still going strong.

 

led CREE headlight Bulbs; thats what i started running, at the peak of winter up here there is 20 hours of darkness. No warm up time and great light output.

Now that my truck no longer sucks oil I'm willing to spend some $$$ on it and being able to see at night is next on the list.

Man it sucks when the peepers start to go! But, my night vision has never been my strong fit!

 

LED bulbs tend to do a very poor job at directing the light correctly, unless the housing is designed for it. And generally they are not as bright.
