Default Guidance / Suggestions Needed :: My JL Build - Silverado

Thank you in advance...

Prefacing this with - I have a good hookup on JL and Alpine so I would like to stay with them.

My truck : 2011 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab w/ Bose

What I want : single sub under rear seat, preferably keep stock nav unit, upgrade all the speakers

What I like :Listen to anything from rap to house.. I like screaming highs, good all around bass, some good lows (although I don't think can be achieved with this setup)

Currently I am thinking about this setup...

-Keep stock NAV headunit adding JL CleanSweep

-JL C5 6.5 Components up front
-JL C5 5.25 Coaxials rear
(or should I do more components?)
-Subthump downfire box 07-2013 GM Crew Cab Single Downfire Box
-JL 10w3v2 or JL12w3v2 or JL13tw5
-All powered off JL XD700/5v2 (or similar?)

Keep in mind if you suggest similar, keep it alpine / JL. I have always have ported boxes and I'm not sure how this box will sound different. Can I get away with keeping this stock headunit with a cleansweep? The box supposedly supports the right volume for all three of these speakers.. Some direction would be great. How are the subs going to differ in sound etc?

Thanks a ton,
-B

If you have a hookup with JL I would run their stealth boxes they sound great and look great

Car Audio - Stealthbox® - Chevrolet - Silverado

I have used sub thumps boxes before and they are awesome but since you only want one sub I would take your opportunity to save under seat space and run one of those in your console.

Also those rear speakers are components and I would say that is the right call stage the tweeters back there for your passengers and the one up front for yourself.

I would highly recommend the HD 900/5 amp, seriously small amp & powerful. HD's are worth every penny.

btw I have 3 HD's, love em.

I have a 12TW1-4 12" it requires very little space for a sealed box, but I will admit is sounds better ported. ported requires a larger box. but is not for my truck lol

I would recommend a stealth box, or similar this way you don't loose any storage space, SB-GM-TAHOCNSL/10W1v3
