Default Is it gonna be enough?

I have a 12" Alpine Type X sub, Alpine MRD 1005 mono block amp, and a Tsunami 5 fared capacitor. I have had this setup for a while and plan on getting a big ported box built and putting in the back seat of my CC. I just don't know if it will get as loud as I want in that truck?

A 12" subwoofer can sound loud in any vehicle if you build the box right. It's way more about the box than it is the subwoofer... You'll likely produce more db at a given wattage simply by using a ported box vs a sealed box, so if you're just in the market for volume you are on the right track.

ana is right. Its all about the box. You can put a crap speaker in a well designed box and it will out play an expensive speaker in a crappy box.

How loud are you trying to get?

When its loud enough to make long hair stand straight out. Its a big thing with people wanting high SPL vehicles. There are TONS of videos on you tube. Here is one.

Lol, I'm not trying to get that loud. I have a friend with 2 p2 10's on a 1200 watt fosgate amp in a single cab ford behind the seat, I would like to be louder than him!

You probably wont be louder than him but it will be close thats a good bit of cone area in a small cab like that. He is proably running a sealed system but if your is ported right you should drop deeper than his.
