GMT900, disable lock horn chirps?
Hey guys, I just installed an Fortin EVO-ALL & T-harness in my 2009 GMC Sierra for a Remote Starter. It works great but in order to remote start I need to hit the lock button on the remote fob three times, I'd really like to disable the horn chirps while pressing the lock button. I've searched the owners manual and online without much results. The generic "Hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob down at the same time for 2-3 seconds until parking lights flash" doesn't work. Right now I've got horn fuse removed just to keep the annoyance of the horn chirps away, but that's not a good nor safe long term solution. Thanks!

You need to use the information buttons on the dash on the left side. Or if you have the center console they are on the right side.
The 3rd button down should be a box with like a check mark in it, you can enable or disable several features of the truck from there.

Ah, base model problems.
If your truck has the wiring you can purchase the DIC information center dash piece and swap it in. It's a common thing for people to add this if the wiring is there. I'm sure you can youtube video's of the upgrade as well.
Here is a random ebay listing of one, I'm sure you can find them cheaper or with the correct button/dimmer to match your current one.
