2004 Gauge cluster wiring for ls swap
Hey guys I just helped a customer complete a 2013 6.2/6l80e swap with the e38 ecu and harness into his 2004 Avalanche. I did a complete rewire with a new fuse block and everything for the 6.2 harness. Everything in the truck still works as it did before the swap. Only thing we are having a problem with is the all the new stuff is Canbus instead of serial data. So we ordered a lengenfelter canbus to analog converter box that should be able to be plugged into the OBD2 connector and read out for the gauges.
Now our problem is finding a correct pinout for the original 04 gauge cluster. I wanna say I come up with tach as white, oil pressure as tan/white, and VSS as green/white. The fuel level and volts already work as they originally did.
The only thing I'm trying to figure out is making the coolant temp gauge work. The diagrams I have seen say its logic or something. Is there not an output wire for it to work as the other gauges? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
