I want to buy a factory gm navgation unit but what will I have to do to get it to work in my truck? Do i have to get a certain year or some factory tuneing. I dont have the y91 or 92 option. Any info would help.

 

If you're referring to the truck in your sig (02), you're gonna have to do some modificatins just to make it fit. The 03's and up (which offer nav) are double din, while the 99-02's are 1.5 din. As far as the wiring goes, that's a whole other story...different BCM, harness, etc.

If you have an 03 or newer, I believe that JPCustoms sells a complete plug and play unit though.

 

I havent bought one yet, but was wondering if I had to buy one from an 00-02 or what would work. It is an 2002 sierra.

This is not going to work.

2003 was the begining of a totally new wiring harness for the truck line. It is really a VAN (vehicle area network) which the '02's did not have.
