Default gas gauge faulty?

The gas gauge on my denali cluster will fluctuate between totally empty and full after i gas the truck up. What do you guys think could be the problem, think its a faulty sending unit?

yep, definately the sending unit. just remove the bed and pop the fuel pump out of the tank. then replace the sending unit mounted on the pump and rewire two wires in the wire loom above the tank and your done. this is good because you dont have to buy the pump (usually 400-500) just to get the sending unit like you use to.

Actually you can take the bolts out of the driver side and loosen the bolts on the passenger side along ways. and jack your bed up and stick something under it to keep it up..

I have a Fuel Level Sending unit sittin on my dresser right now... just waitin on some time...... Mine hasnt worked in over a year i know! Oh and mine was only $103

bed has only 6 screws in it to the frame. then just get a guy on each side and slide it back onto the rear tires and everything is right there. maybe and hour job at the most.

Mine does this too... I've learned to live with it but if the fix is easy and cheap maybe I'll get around to it. Anyone have the part number for the sending unit?
