Default Front door component speaker selection?

I was looking around crutchfield for some front components for my 2002 ECSB. The stock woofers seem to be baking some odd noises at low bass levels. I think It's time to replace the front speakers. I'd like to fo a component system, kinda what the truck has stock, with the woofer and a tweeter mounted separately.

I pulled up this comparison:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ok5U5rE...tems=107DB6500

The aluminum tweeters will have a more hard sound, right? While the silk domed tweeters would be softer, right?

So, I think the middle road would be the polk 6500's. Will the stock head unit drive these speakers ok? Impedance-wise?

I've heard a lot of good things about those infinity components, I would have to say most of the time people ask about components Infinity comes up. Hey bro are you currently in PV? or in Cali?

I would say spend 50$ more and get THESE , but it doesnt sound like you want to amp them right now.

I dont know if 250 is in my budget right now. I think 200 is kinda squeaking by with what I can do. I have a birthday coming up in a month, maybe I can hold off until then and ask for those speakers.

As far as putting an amp to the speakers. I'd like to just use the crossovers that come with the components andlet my factory headunit drive the speakers. I like the factory radio and how it looks.

Maybe one day I can step up to a JL audio clean sweep with some nice speakers and an amp. But for now, a little upgrade should do just fine

you can get one of those modules that plugs into the factory harness and has RCA outs, you dont need JL clean sweep. And with an amp components are gonna sound 10x better. Not amping components is like buying a plasma TV and hooking a VCR up to it IMO

i dont know where people get that module. I think its called like PAL or PAC, i know if you searched you could find it. No reason to spend 300$ or w/e JL clean sweep is. I think that module I'm talking about is 50$, but I'm not sure.

the JL clean sweep will get you better sound quality and a lot more adjustment but its called a Line-out converter (bestbuy sells them for $26) some amps you dont need them though (most of the kenwoods) because they allow you to run your speaker wire right into the amp instead of useing a RCA (doing pretty much the same thing as a line out)
