Focal speakers?
#1
I am planning on replacing my stock bose stereo and sub in my 2008 sierra with 4 focal speakers, a stealth box with a jl 10, and a 5-channel amp. any ideas if i should go with something else or comments on if this expensive setup will be worth it?

bright.
I had mine set at -3db and they sounded pretty bright, but than again i dont much care for high frequencies. im sure it can be mostly fixed in eq settings though. A different tweeter might work better for me...

Before you get a JL pro form box look at their new thin mount sub. I just got my wife's Yukon back with Infiniti Kappas in the front and rear doors. Tweeters in the a pillars and the 3 1/2s in the D pillars. The door speakers are running off a JL 300/4 and the 3 1/2s off the Sony double din dvd player. The JL 13TW5 or something like that is running of a 500/1 mounted in a .9 cube box behind the stock left side panel. For just one sub, it is INCREDIBLE. I listened to it a good bit last night and could tell it was getting looser. The suspension on it was so tight I couldn't believe it. The mids and highs through the Infinitis are nice but I am going to have to adjust the amps because that sub is breaking in and over taking the mids and highs. I have never heard Focal but I would say if you are going to spend that kind of money you need to add some sound deadening. I put 200 square feet throughout the Yukon and it made all the difference in the world. If I were you I would get the Focal speakers, the JL sub I mentioned, some extremely strong amps not 1 5 channel but 1 4 channel and 1 1 channel or D class and sound deadening.......lots and lots of it. You won't believe the difference it alone will make
