Default A/F Ratio gauge install

Ok guys, I purchased this gauge off a friend but don't know how to install it. It has 3 wires; red-purple-and black. I've heard power -ground-and a wire to pcm for 02 sensor readings, I'm thinking that would be the purple wire but if somebody has this info and can chime in would highly be appreciated.
Thanks guys
Eric

What type of gauge is it? Is it a wide-band or narrow-band gauge?

Ok then here is your answer.

red - +12V ignition
black - ground
purple - signal wire from your O2 sensor.

This pigtail could be usefull so you don't have to splice in the harness.

In order to find the correct o2 sensor wire I just follow the sensor wire into the pcm, right.

Yes. You can tap into the signal anywhere but the closer the the sensor the better. I would highly recommend the pig-tails.

After consulting my manual, the purple wire is the wire you need to connect your gauge too.

Wish I'd found that pigtail when I was wiring mine up cause I'd much rather have used that than putting a tap on the factory wiring.

I have had mine installed in the pod for about a month now and haven't hooked it to the sensor wire yet. I guess now I will use the pigtail, good find IMO.
