Default electrical problem

Whats up guys, long time no see. I have a little problem with my 02 GMC Sierra rcsb. Sometimes when im driving listeneing to the radio, the radio dies and it takes a bit to come back on. Its been happening a bit more often, I dont know wtf is wrong. Ive checked all my grounds and all the wires behind my radio and everything is good. another thing, when i put the key in accessory the radio dosnt come on. It seems like it wants to come on, and then turns off. This ir really annoying, does anyone have an idea what could be wrong. Any help would be apreciated.

The only thing I can think of right off the bat is the ignition switch, or a relay.

you said you checked all your wires.. but what about the main power wire that is directly connected to the ignition?

oh, and is this an after market head unit.. or stock radio?

If all of the wiring checks out OK, the head unit may be shorted internally...or if there's an external amp, that may be the issue also.

I'd bet the head unit is dying also.

its a new head unit, It also did this with the stock head unit before the sounds where installed. I was thinking it was my alternator that was shorting out, I dont know though. Do you guys think it could be the PCM? Sometimes the airbag, low fuel, and security lights go on and the fuel guage and volts guage go to zero.

You're gonna need a schematic to find what's common to all of those circuits...could be as simple as a pin backed out, or a fuse that's not making full contact especially if it has been tapped into and the terminals are spread out.
