Bad ground somewhere in the speaker system most likely. Check that your amp ground is solid too.

I recently out an alpine head unit and ever since I've got static even if the volume is all the way down the static is still clear. Don't mean to hijack just wondering if it could be anything along the same lines

Power is ran on driver side and rcas are ran on passenger. If I keep the amp turned down to just barely on, you can't really hear it. I'll check the ground connections and report back. Where is a good place to ground an amp in an extended cab? It's behind the seat and I think the ground is under the floor trim. Screwed in to cab

You've gotta take a wire brush and remove all the paint at the ground connection.
