Default DVD Player Install

I just bought a Kenwood DVD player for my 1999 Silverado LT. Problem is, the install is a little more involved than I thought it would be. Anybody have the answers to these questions?

1: Where can I find an Ignition (ACC) wire to tap into?
2: Where can I find an constant power wire to tap into?
3: Where can I mount the accessory hideaway unit (seats are power, and there's no room for it underneath with all of those motors)?
4: How can I remove the center console?
5: Is there a way I can add support to the headunit from the rear?
6: What's a good way of routing the wires?
7: How can I bypass the video Lockout for kenwood?
8: Is there an external factory vehicle amplifier, or is everything contained in the stock head unit?

1. should need one wire harness should take care of that.
2. "
3. underneth the center seat should work not for sure though i dont personally have one.
4. theres a few bolts on the bottom piece under steering wheel remove that piece than youll find the bolts for the top piece i believe been a while since i had to do it its very easy though just take a minute to look around it and you will see there are some parts that are snap on..
5. should'nt need it i have one and there is no problems you'll need the insert though.
6. depends on where you put the other unit.
7.i had a shop install a toggle that overides it not sure what wire the hooked into though.
8. if there is it wont really matter the one in your new deck should be better.

mount the hide away unit in the glove box.

ground the wire that goes to the parking break. that'll let you play video at anytime.
use the remote for rear support.

don't think it has an amp from factory.
run your power wire down the side of the truck where you battery is located. then run you ground and rca's on the opposite side. to avoid any time of road noise or alternator noises.

Stereo is in... but I haven't been able to play around with it. As far as the parking sensor goes, it looks like in the manual it should be connected to the emergency brake light. I would think a toggle switch would do it, more so than a ground, no? I'll have to pick up a cigarette lighter adapter just to check it out.

I just grounded my parking brake wire. I can watch a DVD anytime.

If you have OnStar* and no Bose system I have the harness you need. I ended up not needing it.

grounding the wire for the dvd will work if all the dvd player senses is the parking break light (which when on grounds itself) however, if it is like the alpines i use to install you must have the foot brake pressed then engage the park break then release the food break (needing a toggle for each action or could use one toggle and a couple relays) just depends on how the kenwood is set up........
