Default door chime problem

While I was out earlier to day I noticed that my door chime sound is making a very wierd noise. I dont know what could have caused it because it was working fine before. I parked it and when I got back in it started making a noise similar to a blown speaker. Anyone ever experience anything like that? Any ideas? Thanks guys.

I know on older gm's they have a chime box under the dash somewhere but I believe on the newer 99-up it's made into the BCM and is not replaceable unless you swap the whole thing? I might be wrong? Are you having any other electrical problems other than the door chime?

if its in your 2000 the door chime comes from a box under the dash....if it is in your 2005 the door chime comes from your left front speaker in which case if that speaker was blown i could see how the chime would sound distorted...

Well the problem was in my 05. But as of this morning the problem is gone. IDK? there was alot of rain here in San Diego yesterday and I guess that might have had something to do with it. I parked under a tree yesterday when I went to checkout Smackdown. LOL. Thanks for the input guys.
