Default Cam Positioning Sensor

OK, so my truck is hard to start and it is throwing a low voltage code for the cam positioning sensor. I changed the sensor in mine with a sensor out of a 400 mile wreked truck. This whole problem started after I had gotten stuck and he to give my truck some h#l4 to get unstuck. So what I am asking is, do I need to buy a new sensor and try that, try to trace the wires and see if there is a fray or something (if so does anyone know where the wire leads?), or take it to a tuner?
